CHIA Publishes Updated Massachusetts Enrollment Trends Through March 2019

The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) today released an updated edition of Enrollment Trends, offering new insights into changes in health insurance coverage in Massachusetts from March 2017 through March 2019. Coverage is defined as unique Massachusetts residents with primary, medical membership in the 14 largest commercial payers, MassHealth (Medicaid), and Medicare. For the first time, this edition of Enrollment Trends consists of an interactive dashboard.

Included in the August 2019 edition of Enrollment Trends is an executive summary, a databook, technical appendix, and Massachusetts All-Payer Claims Database (MA APCD) programming code. The databook has additional detail not included in the main report.

Enrollment Trends is produced using the MA APCD, supplemented with additional data from commercial payers, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
