I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to provide you with an update on the precautionary measures the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) has implemented in response to coronavirus (COVID-19) and their impact on the agency's operations.
I would first like to express the utmost gratitude to the health care workers and providers, and many others, who are on the front line working to contain this virus and keep us safe. CHIA wants to ensure that the health care system can devote energy and resources to what matters most: providing care. We are aware the health care system is shouldering additional burdens. Where necessary, CHIA will work with data submitters to modify or delay reporting requirements.
CHIA will continue to monitor developments of COVID-19 and the recommendations released by the Governor to ensure the continued safety of our employees and the public.
I know that many of you may have unanswered questions. At any point, please feel free to contact me or my staff directly.
Be safe, be well,
Ray A. Campbell, III
Executive Director
Remote Work Environment
As of March 16, CHIA has temporarily closed our office and requested that all employees work remotely. During this time, the agency will maintain its regular business hours.
Data Submitters
We will be working with our data submitters to prioritize submissions that would normally be due to CHIA over the next few months and beyond. CHIA liaisons will follow up with their data submissions contacts over the next few days.
During this time CHIA will still be accepting and reviewing data applications for both Case Mix and MA APCD datasets. However, CHIA is unable at this time to fulfill approved applications and will not distribute data extracts until we reopen our office.
April Health Care Affordability Event
CHIA's previously scheduled event, "The State of Health Care Affordability in Massachusetts: Where Are We After Nearly Fifteen Years of Health Care Reform?" on April 2, will be postponed.
We know you are getting many emails. CHIA will be judicious with our outreach during this time. Noteworthy updates will be posted to
