New Monthly Hospital Financial Performance Report

The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) is excited to announce the publication of a new hospital and health system financial performance report, updated to include the period of June and July 2020.

CHIA implemented a voluntary monthly financial data collection beginning in March 2020 in order to provide insight into the impact of COVID-19 on the Massachusetts health care system. This report provides an overview of the results of operations for 37 participating acute hospitals and 11 health systems.

As Governor Baker declared a state of emergency on March 10, this report includes the financial impact of COVID-19 on hospital health care operations, in addition to the implementation of federal COVID-related funding.
